About Dr. Clark:
Dr. Dewey G. Clark joined North Carolina Wesleyan College as its seventh president on May 4, 2014. He knows the college well from a unique perspective, having earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and history from Wesleyan in 1982. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Campbell University, and earned his doctorate in management from Argosy University.
As a student at Wesleyan, President Clark participated in campus activities and was listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. After graduating, he was invited to stay at the college to serve in the Admissions Office. He remained there for seven years and became associate dean of admissions. He left in 1990 to join MBM Corporation, a national customized food distributor, in Rocky Mount. Most recently at MBM, Dr. Clark served as the Executive Director of Strategic Planning where he managed the company’s $7 billion annual operating plan, and analyzed business acquisitions.
Before becoming Wesleyan’s president, Dr. Clark served as a member of the college’s Board of Trustees for more than 12 years, including as vice-chairman and chairman. Also he served as president of the NC Wesleyan Alumni Association. As a volunteer, he taught a course in operations management at Wesleyan for many years.
Dr. Clark has been honored with a variety of awards for service to the community, and he and his family are active in Rocky Mount’s Englewood Baptist Church. Dr. Clark and his wife, Suzanne Clark, have a daughter, Blakely, and a son, Nicholas.
