Luaskya Nonon is the founder and CEO of Equity Principle Consulting, a diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting and coaching firm. She is a licensed attorney, Certified Diversity Professional (CDP®) and a Certified Personal and Executive Coach. Her passion is to help leaders create workplaces where diversity is celebrated, equity is prioritized and inclusion is the foundation for success.


She is also the Deputy General Counsel and DEI Task Force chair for an IT company in Durham, North Carolina. She has practiced law as an in-house transactional and employment attorney for over 15 years. Luaskya recently served as the President of the Board of Shield North Carolina, a local non-profit organization that educates and empowers communities with the tools to fight against human trafficking. She was also the co-chair of the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion biennial Symposium sponsored by the Minorities in the Profession Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association.  


Luaskya is a first-generation American, of Afro-Latin descent. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from New York University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
