Topic: "The Future of the Food Bank "
COVID-19 shed light on an issue we’ve known was there — so many members of our community are living one health crisis, one missed paycheck, and one grocery store trip away from needing to use the Food Bank network. While we have witnessed and experienced unprecedented need, we have also experienced unprecedented support. The community has developed a greater awareness of food insecurity, of how many families and individuals live so close to the edge in putting food on the table. Marlowe serves as a key member of the executive management team leading all aspects of fund development, information technology, communications and volunteer engagement. As a member of the executive team, he helps identify and influence connectivity between all Food Bank branches and external constituencies, collaborates with the CEO and Board to create and implement the strategic plan. Today he is also serving in his role as Food Bank spokesperson. Marlowe has a distinguished career graduating from Virginia Commonwealth, serving as a Commissioner on the North Carolina State Banking Commission, working for BASF in Global Industry Relations and Corporate Government Affairs. Also served as a Community Investment Council Member for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He lives in Wilmington with his wife Evelyn, daughter Kristiahn, son Noah and dog Knox. He can be found on Saturday enjoying golf with the guys.
