A Journey in Resilience, Recovery, And Rebirth

Early Saturday morning on
September 24th, 2016, Dean Otto was riding his bicycle and was hit from behind by a truck. Paralyzed from the waist down, he had a 2% chance to walk again. His back was shattered, he was literally broken in half. Come hear his story and the lessons learned about life, asking for help, and both personal and business attitudes.

Dean’s Key Points

  • Positivity Is The Key To A Happy Life - We Are Where Our Thoughts Are
  • Own Who You Are With Authenticity And Transparency - Don't Be Afraid To Ask For Help
  • All We Control Is Our Attitudes And Actions - Something Much Larger Than Us Is In Control Of Outcomes

Dean Otto lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife, Beth, where they have raised their two children, Will and Grace. Dean is a 30-year sales veteran, spending the first 10 years of his career at Pillsbury and Frito Lay. The second 10 years at KPMG and Womble Carlyle, and the last 10 years selling marketing automation software.

Dean currently works for Braze (BRZE) which had their IPO in November 2021 as the Global Account Manager supporting Warner Media, ViacomCBS and the NBA. Braze sells customer engagement software that humanizes the digital experience by orchestrating individualized multichannel messaging through email, mobile app and web, desktop, SMS and OTT platforms.

Dean is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and a huge University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. He loves the outdoors, and in his spare time enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, golf, cooking, and gardening.

Dean still runs and works out on the Peloton about six days a week to stay healthy and burn off the cookies.

He gets the most joy in life from helping others and sharing his story of forgiveness with businesses and organizations around the world.
