You Settle for What You Get if You Don't Know What Great Looks Like.

John will take you through his journey growing a highly successful business and his development of a leadership model that resulted in his book, Why Jacob Matters.

John’s Key Points

  • Fix You First
  • Decide What Great Looks Like
  • What’s Your Six

John Hiester, CEO and Founder, Hiester Automotive Group

Although John Hiester went to school to be a diesel mechanic, once he earned his certificate, he decided that was not the direction he wanted to go. So, he started selling cars with Leith Automotive in 1986, advancing through sales into finance and insurance, then sales manager and general sales manager.

In 1992, John went to work for Darryl Burke Chevrolet in Fuquay-Varina. Ten years later, John purchased Paul Bailey Chevrolet in Angier, North Carolina, which became John Hiester Chevrolet.

Since then, John has grown his business which now includes four dealership locations, two Chevrolet locations and two Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram locations, as well as an AC Delco Wholesale Parts Distributorship.

John has served on the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association board since 2015 where he just completed his term as Chairman. He has been recognized in the community, too, serving as former president of the Chamber of Commerce, former Board Treasurer for Cary Christian School, and currently serves on an advisory board for First Bank.

He published his first book called Why Jacob Matters in 2019 and is currently working on his second book.

He and his wife, Lisa, have two daughters, Amanda, who is a Pharmacist, and Ashley, who just celebrated the first year of opening her own Bakery-Café, called Ashley’s Harvest Moon-Bakery-Café in Holly Springs, NC.
