About North Carolina Executive Roundtable (NCER) Programs

NC Justice Paul Martin Newby

Monthly Luncheons

North Carolina Executive Roundtable is known for its outstanding speakers hosted at our Monthly Luncheons. These events are held at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary on the second Friday of each month except October and December. Please click here to access the event calendar to confirm all luncheon dates

NCER Monthly Luncheons have become a trademark of the organization since its founding in 2011. Designed for NCER members and their guests, these business events enable attendees to hear outstanding speakers while sharing renowned food and exceptional camaraderie. Speakers range from top-level corporate executives and leaders from various industries to members of the US Congress, the NC Legislature, NC Supreme Court Justices, State agencies, senior military officers, academia, professional sports, high-level elected officials, professional pollsters, authors, sought-after business coaches, and many, many more.

The Programs Committee of NCER selects speakers recognized as inspirational leaders as well as subject matter experts. The goal for attendees is to leave with new knowledge, greater understanding, and fresh insights, perspective, and encouragement they can apply to achieve Amazing Things!

Member Only Events

As a membership organization, NCER provides multiple events and activities strictly for its members only. These may include:

  • Member Meetings – Casual business lunch meetings hosted quarterly by NCER at various business facilities. Members attend to build stronger relationships by mixing, mingling and networking informally over a meal provided by NCER while hearing updates from members as well as the Board about NCER business.

  • Business Forums – Facilitated peer-advisory discussion groups where members address a variety of business topics. Topics may be related to members' businesses or the business community in general. Participants glean from the collective knowledge, experience, and insights shared by attendees while all adhere to the rules of engagement - confidentiality, respect, open-mindedness, and meaningful discussions.

  • Special Programs – On occasion, NCER hosts special events. These events may feature a subject matter expert that addresses topics of interest specific to the membership such as social security planning strategies, estate planning and creating trusts, legal issues, etc., or general fun entertainment such as music, book readings, etc. For example, NCER hosted “An Evening with Mark Twain & Stephen Foster,” bringing a bit of 19th Century American History to life, with some NCER members even attending in antebellum costume.

  • Holiday Events – Traditionally, a private dinner party is planned annually for NCER members and their spouses/significant others during the Holiday Season. This is typically held at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC.

Community Outreach

It is a privilege and responsibility to use our collective expertise, breadth of knowledge, and leadership abilities to enhance the greater community in which we live to achieve Amazing Things. Doing so strengthens us as an organization and each of us individually as we give and gain tremendous knowledge as well as personal satisfaction through such outreach and engagement.

Through formal and informal channels, NCER and its members may organize:

  • Confidential Advice and Guidance – NCER members seek out and are sought after by community leaders, and other executives who face challenges in their organizations, to share their experiences and knowledge.

  • Industry Visits and Consultations –  Industry visits allow NCER members to meet with leaders throughout the community to learn critical aspects regarding their organizations, the market, their competition, differentiators, etc. Industry visits also allow leaders to brainstorm ideas and challenges with our members.
  • Education Support – Key to continued success for everyone, NCER looks for opportunities to evolve and learn and help others do the same. One such program proudly supported by NCER is Virtual Enterprise International (VEI). VEI is an in-school, global business simulation program that offers high school students the opportunity to compete with teams across the nation in project-based, collaborative learning in entrepreneurship. The NC State Champion VEI Team(s) conduct(s) a “dry run” of their live presentation at an NCER meeting before competing in the VEI National Business Plan Competition in New York City. Performing before our members, the students hone their presentation skills and receive feedback and suggestions from business executives to enhance their presentation while building their confidence before the national competition.

**To provide a distraction-free environment for our attendees, NCER does not allow direct solicitation of business in any fashion at events by attendees or other unauthorized parties without the express written permission from the Board of Directors of NCER.
