About Dan Ariely
Dan Ariely is a Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University and the founder of the Center for Advanced Hindsight. His research focuses on the irrational ways people behave, particularly in areas like decision-making, ethics, and motivation. Ariely’s work has been instrumental in challenging traditional economic theories that assume rational behavior, offering a more nuanced understanding of human actions.
He is the author of several New York Times bestsellers, including Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality, and The Honest Truth About Dishonesty. These works translate complex research findings into accessible narratives, helping a broader audience understand the hidden forces that shape our decisions.
Beyond academia, Ariely has co-founded multiple companies that apply behavioral economics principles to real-world problems, such as Irrational Labs and Shapa. He also co-produced the documentary (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies, which explores the psychology of dishonesty.
