What benefits have you experienced as a result of your NCER membership?
Meeting, networking and developing business relationships with other senior executives. Additionally, greater personal development and continuing education from our luncheon speakers, where we enjoy a great Prestonwood lunch buffet and impressive dessert table.
What are the most important leadership lessons you have learned over the years?
To be a leader, you actually have to lead. As a leader you are responsible for the success of your direct reports. People who report to you have to be clear about what your expectations are. Execution happens at an individual level, therefore you must lead and manage at an individual level. If you can’t teach and you can’ t motivate, you can’t lead.
What have been some of the greatest influences on you throughout your career?
My mother and father, my business partners and employees (both the good ones and the not so good ones), great business books and the combination of my business experience and business education.
