Wendy Coulter, President of the NC Executive Roundtable (NCER), announced that Dr. Rebecca Tippett will speak at NCER’s November luncheon. The event will take place Friday, November 11, 2016 at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary at 11:45 a.m.
Dr. Tippett will be speaking on “Demographic Change in North Carolina: 5 Trends to Watch.”
North Carolina is experiencing profound demographic changes: our state’s growing population is increasingly diverse, we face looming impacts of population age, and there are widening disparities between urban and rural counties. These changing demographics have implications for residents, businesses, and policymakers across the state. This presentation will review five major demographic trends you should know when planning for the next 20 years.
Dr. Rebecca Tippett is Director of Carolina Demography at the Carolina Population Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. She works with Census and other data to understand and explain the impact of demographic and social trends to community organizations, policy makers, and business leaders throughout the state.
